Have you ever wondered,
Why we feel emotion?
The pain and sorrow,
The happiness and joy?
Consider this scenario,
Of a mother and her daughter.
Her daughter returns from school,
Saying, “Life is so bitter!”
“I don’t want to live.”
It breaks the mother’s heart,
To hear her daughter say,
“No one likes me at school,
No one wants to play.”
The mother calms the daughter,
And asks her what is wrong.
The daughter to her say,
“No one likes me at school,
No one wants to play.”
“I don’t want to live.”
The mother asks her daughter,
“Where is your best friend?”
And she then replied to her,
“Friendships always end.”
“My best friend’s moving,
To Kansas City.
She’s playing with others,
To remember them.”
“And I am nothing.
Nothing more than
The one who used to be,
The one that she relied on.”
“I don’t want to live.”
It shatters the mother’s soul,
To hear her 5-year-old,
Say the words of deep despair,
Saying that life is not fair.
The mother asks the child,
“But what about other kids?
You can play with them!”
Her daughter replied through tears,
“No one likes me at school,
No one wants to play.”
“I don’t want to live”
Whether you believe in God or Darwin,
You can see this isn’t right.
Devil in hell or Angel in heaven,
Cannot take this light.
It’s a sin against man,
A crime against humanity.
Should we blame it on emotion,
The beginning of this atrocity?
